Today was a great day for hiking in Northern Colorado and we just could not let it slip by. A buddy and I loaded up our hiking gear which of course included our four legged friends. The hike had a final goal of grabbing a GC2JQDR, a geocache that is part of a larger series that leads to GC2KW91 Profiles of Greyrock Mountain – A Mystery Cache, a 5/5 final bonus cache.
The hike was about much more than just getting the cache as the views we came upon were nothing short of spectacular. The entire hike took us around five hours. To put the Mystery Cache into perspective, this five hour hike was one of eight legs necessary before getting the coordinates for the final. Of course, once we do get the coordinates, we are not done. We will have to make one more hike to get to make it to the final. I assume that one will be at least as strenuous and beautiful as the rest.
How lucky are we that only a few miles from my home we can be in these mountains. this was definitely another great day in Colorado for this geocacher/hiker. Thanks Denali for setting this adventure up and giving us something to strive for.
